We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Commis Cook, you will assist senior kitchen staff in food preparation and maintain high standards of hygiene and efficiency. This is a great opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
- Wash, peel, chop, and dice fruits, vegetables, and meats following precise instructions.
- Prepare mise en place for breakfast buffet, à la carte service, and group events.
- Support Demi Chef, Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and Head Chef with daily tasks.
- Follow instructions accurately and maintain strong communication with supervisors.
- Assist in preparing breakfast items, salads, sauces, and other required dishes.
- Learn and consistently follow the standards for à la carte preparation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation.
- Ensure proper food safety, disposal of spoiled items, and cleanliness standards.
- Monitor ingredient levels, assist with receiving deliveries, and report shortages.
- Help control wastage and ensure proper stock rotation and storage.
- Participate actively in ongoing training.
- Embrace sustainability and green practices implemented by the hotel.
- Stay open to learning new skills and culinary techniques.
- Work across various kitchen stations to gain a broad range of experience.
- Show flexibility and readiness to multitask.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Take responsibility for the cleanliness and proper use of kitchen tools.
- Assist in receiving, organizing, and storing kitchen stock and supplies.
- Prepare and plate dishes according to established standards.
- Follow guidance from Demi Chef or Chef de Partie to ensure consistency and quality.
